Team Overview

The U.S. Consumer Services (USCS) Team is responsible for delivering exceptional products and experiences to U.S. customers across a wide range of offerings including premium cards, co-brand partnerships, rewards, lifestyle services, travel, dining, and banking.

The Control Management Specialized Risk Management team within USCS provides subject matter expertise in managing operational risks. It ensures robust risk awareness and controls are integrated throughout daily operations.


Role Summary

As an Analyst – Specialized Risk Management, you will support operational risk compliance across USCS. This includes helping integrate specific risk types into broader frameworks, compiling risk intelligence, and supporting awareness and training efforts. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a culture of risk transparency and mitigation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day activities supporting compliance with enterprise policies (e.g., Third-Party Management policy – AEMP10)

  • Support integration of decentralized risk types into Operational Risk Management (ORM) frameworks

  • Compile and share topical risk information, trends, and regulatory updates

  • Assist with development and delivery of training and awareness programs

  • Research and communicate insights to help process owners strengthen controls

  • Support control design and implementation for specialized risk topics

  • Assist in aligning risk strategies with changing business and regulatory environments

  • Gather and share best practices, risk themes, and insights across the enterprise


Required Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in operational risk management (Risk or Internal Audit functions preferred)

  • Understanding of the operational risk management lifecycle

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills

  • Ability to analyze data, identify risk trends, and evaluate scenarios

  • Experience in governance, compliance, or regulatory frameworks


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, or related field (advanced degrees or certifications a plus)

  • Experience supporting compliance with risk programs and integrating risk types into broader ORM practices

  • Familiarity with risk-specific policy implementation and operational process alignment
