Key Accountabilities:

This role is for a technical expert in Advanced Process Control (APC) to collaborate with bp’s global network of SMEs.

What You Will Deliver:

• Provide advice on APC system design, operator interface, alarm management, and remote monitoring.

• Deliver remote and on-site APC support for bp refineries and production facilities.

• Evaluate APC opportunities and manage project execution across the full application lifecycle.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability development.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

• Promote knowledge sharing and technical standardization across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support global sites and projects with expertise in multivariable predictive control software.

• Engage in planning, implementation, and lifecycle support for APC applications.

• Collaborate effectively across teams and geographical locations.

• Promote continuous improvement and standardized control methodologies.

Education & Qualifications:

???? Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical / Control / Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering
  ???? Preferred:

• Postgraduate study in Advanced Process Control

• Chartered Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer

Experience Required:

???? Total Experience: 8–20 years
✅ Must Have:

• 8+ years in oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical industries

• 5+ years in APC implementation and support

• Deep technical knowledge of multivariable predictive control systems

• Strong understanding of refinery operations and process control

• Excellent interpersonal skills and field/office collaboration experience

????️ Good to Have (Trainable):

• Expertise in AspenTech DMC

• Familiarity with control systems like ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa

• Experience working as part of a remote or cross-functional team

• Multilingual skills (Dutch, German, Indonesian, Spanish)

• History of delivering under pressure with a collaborative mindset
