Who We Are – Fulfillment Optimization Team

Wayfair operates the largest custom e-commerce large-parcel network in the U.S., encompassing over 1.6 million square meters of logistics space. The Fulfillment Optimization team plays a key role in this system, powering platforms that determine how customer orders are fulfilled — optimizing for customer satisfaction and business efficiency.

Our team handles systems that:

• Power fulfillment info from product search through delivery

• Model real-time supply chain dynamics

• Determine how products are boxed and shipped

• Communicate essential data to customers, suppliers, and carriers
  All of this is done at scale — in milliseconds, thousands of times per second.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient backend services and APIs using Java and ReactJS

• Develop frontend components using frameworks like React and Next.js

• Optimize database queries, schemas, and data models for performance at scale

• Write clean, reusable, and well-tested code across the stack

• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and Engineering Leaders to implement technical solutions

• Lead code reviews, provide mentorship, and set high standards in engineering practices

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues

• Continuously improve development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

What You Bring to the Table

• 6+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a frontend-heavy focus

• Strong command of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

• Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, Redux, SASS, Styled Components, etc.

• Solid backend development skills with Java

• Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring engineers

• Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

• Familiarity with e-commerce and digital advertising workflows is a plus

• Strong data and debugging skills; proficient in testing techniques

• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

• A passion for UI/UX and creating seamless experiences across devices

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• A collaborative, constructive approach to code reviews and engineering culture

Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required)

• Experience with ad tech: targeting, campaign management, performance tracking

• Familiarity with design systems and working closely with design teams
