As a Light Vehicle Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating light vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries, and adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Light Vehicles: Transport goods, staff, or materials to designated locations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained and promptly report any mechanical issues.
- Pre-trip Inspections: Conduct daily checks of fuel levels, tire pressure, and fluid levels before each trip.
- Safe Driving: Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies to ensure safe driving at all times.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate trip logs and vehicle documentation as required.
- Route Adherence: Stick to scheduled routes while being adaptable to last-minute changes or urgent requests.
- Loading/Unloading Assistance: Help with loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Vehicle Cleanliness: Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the team and managers regarding transportation needs or any issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License: For light vehicles.
- Knowledge of Traffic Rules: Strong understanding of traffic regulations and safety protocols.
- Driving Experience: Ability to drive for extended hours in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Dedication to maintaining vehicle upkeep and performing pre-trip checks.
- Communication Skills: Ability to follow instructions accurately and communicate effectively.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of assisting with loading and unloading of goods.
- Basic Vehicle Knowledge: Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience:
- Prior experience as a Light Vehicle Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with driving in Coimbatore and surrounding areas is a plus.
- Experience with GPS navigation and route planning systems is an advantage.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position with regular working hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM).
- Flexibility required for occasional weekend work and changes based on transportation needs.
