Role Overview

The HR Manager will collaborate with the Customer Care Manager to build a high-performing team in Mumbai. The role involves providing HR expertise, organizational development, and talent acquisition support.

This position ensures compliance with HR policies, manages industrial relations, and handles employee well-being, health, and safety policies. Additionally, the HR Manager leads people strategy, execution, and operations while improving employee experience and HR processes.


Key Responsibilities

Core People Functions

  • Advise managers on people-related decisions, balancing departmental and organizational needs.
  • Manage people cost budgets, headcount approvals, and data accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, payroll, and governance.
  • Develop and implement people policies aligned with local regulations and global standards.
  • Handle employee exits, disciplinary issues, and grievances professionally.
  • Identify critical roles and ensure coverage for absences or turnover.
  • Improve employee experience through effective HR practices and systems.

High-Performance Culture

  • Recruit for key roles and meet recruitment targets.
  • Deliver leadership training, coaching, and support to managers.
  • Oversee and enhance the performance management process.
  • Build performance management capabilities in line managers through people systems.
  • Support managers with performance improvement plans.
  • Manage performance-related compensation processes and analyze trends from exit interviews.

Occupational Health and Safety

  • Partner with GSORM to build a strong safety culture and ensure employee safety.
  • Stay updated on local and regional health and safety legislation and trends.
  • Implement GSORM policies to meet organizational and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate safety training, investigations, and incident reporting processes.

Compliance and Legal Support

  • Ensure HR compliance with employment contracts, policies, and local regulations.
  • Handle industrial relations and labor agreements effectively.
  • Drive consistency in HR policies and contracts, updating leave and return-to-work policies.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and recommend improvements.
  • Provide advice on legal risks and proactively address potential legal issues.
  • Monitor labor law changes and ensure alignment with compliance requirements.

Emergency and Crisis Response:

  • Perform emergency response duties as required.

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Additional HR certifications/qualifications are a plus.

Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of HR experience in a complex, international organization.
  • Prior experience working in an HR role across multiple countries in Europe.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively, manage client expectations, and create positive changes.
  • Capable of managing sensitive situations with professionalism, tact, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in handling compliance and safety requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel within the region.
